Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026.

Scope of this policy

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses and related digital resources offered through cleverscribe. The site provides an informative resource dedicated to audiovisual production excellence, including topics such as broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and streamlined workflows for television networks and live events. It covers all paid courses, bundles, and access subscriptions sold to customers in the United Kingdom.

Prices, currencies, taxes and additional charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. Prices include value added tax at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. No hidden charges apply at checkout. Any currency conversion fees charged by your payment provider remain your responsibility. cleverscribe reserves the right to adjust prices for new purchases at any time, but existing orders remain at the confirmed price.

Accepted payment methods, authorisation and security

Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfer where offered. All transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. Your card details are never stored on cleverscribe servers. Authorisation occurs instantly for card payments; bank transfers must clear before course access is granted.

Order confirmation and contract formation

A contract forms once you receive an order confirmation email after successful payment. This email summarises the course details, price paid, and access instructions. Until this confirmation is sent, no binding contract exists.

Cancellation rights and applicable periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel without giving a reason, provided you have not started accessing the digital content. If you begin streaming or downloading material within this period you lose the right to cancel.

Refund eligibility, exclusions and non-refundable items

Refunds are available for unused courses within the 14-day cooling-off period. Once significant content has been accessed or downloaded, or after the period expires, refunds are not granted except where required by law. Promotional or discounted bundles may have specific non-refundable elements clearly stated at purchase.

Step-by-step procedure to request a refund

To request a refund, contact [email protected] or use the contact form on the Contacts page. Provide your order number, full name, and reason for the request. Requests must be submitted within the applicable time limit. Include any supporting information such as proof of non-access where relevant.

Inspection, approval, rejection and notification

Upon receipt of a request, cleverscribe will review eligibility within five working days. You will receive written notification of approval or rejection, including reasons if refused. Approved refunds proceed to processing; rejected requests include guidance on further options.

Refund method, processing time and receipt of funds

Refunds return to the original payment method. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear within five to ten working days. PayPal refunds process within two to three working days. Bank transfers may take up to seven working days depending on your provider. You will be notified once the refund is issued.

Special rules for digital content, subscriptions and promotional offers

Digital courses are supplied immediately upon purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are non-transferable and refunds on discounted items are calculated on the amount actually paid. No refunds apply to partially used subscription periods after the cooling-off window.

Failed payments, duplicate charges, chargebacks and suspected fraud

Failed payments must be resolved before access is granted. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded automatically where confirmed. Chargebacks are treated as refund requests but may affect future purchasing privileges. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities while preserving consumer rights.

Mandatory consumer rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
